Today we talk about how people at Englewood feel post-election, the drop in Vape use in high schools, your favorite Thanksgiving dish and we put a wrap on fall sports.

Let's get started.

(M)We are two weeks out from the presidential election, and former President Donald Trump won back the White House. In addition, Republicans will be in charge of the Senate and the House.  We wanted to know how students and staff are feeling as we enter this new era.

(b)According to the Centers for Disease Control, Findings showed there was a significant drop in the number of U.S. middle and high school students who are using e-cigarettes.

Back in 2023, 2 point 13 million or about 8 percent of students used a vape. The new survey found that the number dropped to 1.63 million in 2024, or about 6 percent.

We spoke to students who say they still see students vaping, but agree the numbers have dropped. According to Englewood police Officer and SRO Shaw Gifford, he has seen a drop in the number of students caught with vapes at the high school level. Where he has seen a change is at the middle school level. More students are reporting fellow students more often and that has driven the number of incidents with vapes up this year.

(M)More than 100 people have come down with cases of E. Coli in Colorado and around the country after eating at McDonalds. According to 9 News, federal health officials said 34 of those victims were hospitalized after the food poisoning that is tied to onions served on McDonald's Quarter Power hamburgers. We asked students and staff about the issue.

(fall play) In Englewood High School's latest theater production, the drama unfolds both onstage and off as a play about a play that spirals non-stop and is hilariously out of control.

"The One-Act Play Disaster" was written by Don Zolidis and directed by student Spade Barnes.

The play was pushed back a day because of a snowstorm but still had full audiences on both days. Senior Joe Carter played the mastermind lead. When he reflected on the chaotic yet charming production, he said. It's just such a great community. I just love the art of being able to be someone you're not, but in the same way, being yourself. The theater department usually performs three plays for the year. The next one is the winter musical, "You're a Good Man. Charlie Brown."  Auditions will be on December 16th with callbacks on the 17th.
