Richmond Hill K-8 Media Center

September 2020

Welcome back to Richmond Hill K-8 and to the media center!

Media services will be provided differently this year.

All Students

The Virtual Media Center (VMC) has links to books, homework help, games, virtual field trips, podcasts, STEM activities, story time, and more. Be sure to check the VMC often as the content will be updated frequently.

There are two ways to visit the VMC:

Go to the school website:

      1. Go to rcboe.org/RichmondHill
      2. Click on the tab for Students
      3. Click on Media Center

or

Scan the QR code below.

Face-to-Face Students

Face-to-Face Students:  Face-to-face students (grades 3-8) may use our new "Concierge Service."  Students can reserve or place a "hold" on books using the Destiny Library System. Library staff will pull the books from the shelves, check them out to students, and deliver them to classrooms once a day. Students can return books when their new books are delivered to the classroom.

Video tutorials are available in the VMC at https://www.rcboe.org/Page/59891 or on the school website:

    1. Click on the tab for Students
    2. Click on Media Center
    3. In the left-hand column, click on Destiny Catalog and Destiny Discover

Follett Destiny (where to go to put the books on hold) is on students' launchpads.

Teacher Resources

Teacher resources, organized by content area, are available in the VMC. If teachers have a resource they would like to share with students or other teachers, they can email Mrs. Husid with a suggestion: husidwh@boe.richmond.k12.ga.us

Teachers may use the Concierge Service.

Teachers may use the media center calendar to schedule class time for a lesson or project; however, check out may be limited at these times.
