April is Stress Awareness Month

LET'S GET ACTIVE, KINDER AND HAPPIER TOGETHER!

Axtell Elementary School will be administering the Grade 4 Writing STAAR test on Tuesday, April 6. This will be our first day back to school after the Easter holidays and Bad Weather Day off on Monday, April 5.

This test is very important for our school to know our students’ academic strengths and weaknesses.  To get the most accurate results of their abilities, we need your help in a few areas.

Please encourage your child to do their very best on test day.

We ask that you not schedule doctor’s appointments on test days so that your child will be present first thing in the morning to begin testing and will not need to leave early.

Please do not pick up your child early on test days.  If they know they will be picked up when they finish, they may rush through.  We want them to take their time and do their very best.

Please make sure that your child gets a good night’s rest the night before the test.

Please make sure that your child eats a nutritious breakfast and arrives at school on time.

Your support and encouragement is the most important thing that you can give your child, and in doing so, you help out the school tremendously.  Thank you for all you do to help your child be successful.
